Free - Prescription Reminder Service
Free Prescription reminder service - Saving you money on your prescription costs
We offer a Free prescription reminder service, this means that when you have sent us your prescription if it allows for repeats we will call you during the month it is to expire to remind you the prescription is about to expire and what medication is left to take.
If you do not take the medications before the prescription expiry date then we can no longer dispense the medication and you would need to ask your vet for a new prescription, it is likely they will charge to do this.
A prescription is valid for 6 months unless the vet has written a different expiry time on it, for most people this allows the purchase of meds at regular intervals usually monthly. This helps to spread costs and also prevents over stocking of medication is you are unsure about the health of your pet.
This service is a reminder and to help save you some money on charges that will occur if you have to get a new prescription before you really need one. After our call to you it is then your choice if you wish to order the medication before the end of the month, otherwise after this time a visit to the vet and a new prescription would be needed for future orders.
Our comments back from this service are very positive as it helps save money by not having to pay for prescription charges before you need to.
Please note if we are unable to reach you by telephone or email we will not be able to offer this service to you and we are not responsible if the message doesn't reach you and your prescription expires before you have taken all the medication.

'Give your dog a bone' for a happy worm-free life
Available Now the UK's first worming tablet shaped like a bone. The launch of Drontal bone from Bayer will be supported by a national TV advertising campaign, and an online competition called Give Your Dog A Bone designed to engage further with dog owners and communicate the benefits of having a worm-free dog.

New Regulations For Online Sale Of Pet Meds
Recently the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) have announced they will be inspecting all online suppliers of pet medicines later this year. Companies which are approved will display a logo and have a unique number to show they are registered and allow people to distinguish between legitimate online dispensaries and those to avoid.
Pet Dispensary started in 2006 and since then have only sourced UK medications and products the same as those at your local veterinary practices. Pet Dispensary uses one of the main UK veterinary wholesalers to supply our medications (NVS) and abides to the same regulations as UK Vet practices. Pet Dispensary welcomes the VMD inspections and new logo scheme.

Prices Reduce as Vat Rises at Pet Dispensary!

Lungworm in Cats & Dogs
There is a lot of talk about Lungworm at the moment, please note that Panacur Suspension, Panacur Granules and Panacur SA Paste cover against Lungworm type Oslerus (Filaroides) Osleri and this medication doesn't require a prescription.
For treatment against Lungworm type Angiostronglus Vasorum consider Advocate (this does need a prescription from your vet.)
For routine control of parasites consider Frontline Spot On and Drontal.
